My Approach

My counseling style centers around the Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size (HAES) approach. Intuitive Eating is based on increasing your internal awareness of your body’s needs to improve your relationship with food rather than focusing on external metrics of counting, measuring, and tracking. HAES is a social justice framework that promotes health equity, supports ending weight discrimination, and improves access to quality healthcare regardless of size.

In our counseling sessions, there will be no bias, no judgement and they will be led by YOU.

My Specialties

Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating

I work with individuals who are looking to improve their relationship with food and their body as well as those in outpatient eating disorder treatment. I work with my clients to listen to their experiences to determine the most supportive approaches for your recovery.

In our first sessions, we’ll explore your personal recovery journey in depth. We will assess your past and current relationship with food, exercise and your body, eating and exercise patterns, food rules, body image, stress management, sleep quality, and any co-occurring conditions. I will work with the other members of your healthcare team, including physicians, therapists and psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive and thorough treatment.

I strive to provide you with the trust, support and communication you deserve in healing your relationship with food, your body, and yourself.

Sports Nutrition

I work with athletes and active individuals who are looking to optimize their nutrition for performance in their sport. Whether you exercise occasionally and recreationally, or you are a competitive athlete, we will work together to set and reach goals through supportive nutrition.

In our first sessions, we will dive into your past and current exercise routines. We will explore your current nutrition knowledge and behaviors and will provide education and recommendations that account for your specific sport and training. We will assess how stress, sleep, history of dieting and other factors impact your performance as well. I will also promote a food-first approach to optimizing performance.

General Nutrition

While I specialize in disordered eating and sports nutrition, I also love working with clients on optimizing their nutrition for general health. Life and responsibilities often get in the way of caring for ourselves the way we would like. Through our sessions, we will identify barriers and explore tools to help you overcome these challenges.

In our first sessions, we will address, current nutrition status, physical activity, stress management, and sleep quality, as well as relationships, living situations, job status, history of dieting, etc. I take a comprehensive approach to ensure you receive compassionate, inclusive and evidence-based nutrition care that will be sustainable for you.
